On the way home from the total solar eclipse last month, I stopped off in Dayton, Ohio to visit the grave of one of my favorite poets, Paul Laurence Dunbar in Woodland Cemetery.

He wears the mask while driving elevators poetry rises For Black History Month, a haiku to honor my fellow Ohioan and poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar, 1872-1906. The first line references his great poem We Wear the Mask.
