New Moon Magick

Her sly smile in the twilight west
‘neath the beautiful goddess of love
beckons us to write a new chapter
in the history of our nation.

Let us cast out the demons of fear
and corruption. Break the curse of lies
and hatred. Free us from ignorance
so we may cast our votes as a spell.

Let us attend the sacred polling place,
dance naked ’round the voting booth,
sing songs of truth and good governance
that we may restore our fair country.

I slide my ballot into the holy boxโ€”
the Great Rite of Democracy.

Based on Blue Magick, originally written in October 2018 but revised every other year since.

From what I’m reading about half of my fellow Americans have already voted. If you haven’t voted yet, do it tomorrow! If you know anyone who hasn’t, do your best to convince them to join the spell and we’ll see if our magic is more powerful than theirs.

I love this mystical poem, Bartholomew. May your incantations work! We don’t need the Devil incarnate back in the Oval Office.
