The salty sea breeze
rushes over our senses
as we crest the final dune
Sparkling sapphire waves
beckon us to bare our feet
sink into the summer sand
and stroll through the splash
The tide pulls us to the sky
where a distant storm is blending
ocean and air on the gray horizon
(Last week I visited my pals over at Charles House and we talked about sea poems like Masefield’s Sea-Fever, Arnold’s Dover Beach and Dickinson’s By The Sea. Then we collaborated on the poem above.)

Lovely. Many fond memories of walking on the beaches of Florida.

Thanks, CB! I was surprised at how hard it was to find classic poems about the “sea”.

Oh! I could feel the sand between my toes and hear the waves splashing on the beach. Thanks for some lovely Spanish memories, Bart. 👍❤️❌

You’re very welcome. We were thinking of the other side of the ocean but a beach is a beach.
