Fraiku: April Showers

Autumn leaves clutter
the culverts — leaving the streets
puddle-wonderful

(Robert Lee Brewer must know about Fraikus because “For today’s prompt, write a small poem.” This was also written for Living Poetry’s April Visual Prompt and the last line shamelessly stolen from e. e. cummings.)

Your poem takes me back, Bartholomew. Nothing like stomping around in a puddle of water when I was a kid.

There is a delicious, chewy, saltwater-taffy feel to the sounds in this poem. I love it!

It’s raining here today and last autumns leaves have washed down the hill and are clogging up the drainage grate. Cars are splashing by.
