Her Countenance

Her Countenance
for Cassa Bassa

I was close to calling a close to my career
not content with the content I was composing
then from a cumulus cloud (not cirrus!) she came.

Caring and clever, comely and creative,
she coaxes another canto of consonance
from this cognitively compromised clown.

Cuddly as a cute koala,
quiet as a kookaburra,
her collegial comments
color my cosmos.

(This one’s a got a lot of prompts behind it. Robert Lee Brewer’s “For today’s prompt, write a homograph poem” and Sammi Cox’s Cognitive weekend prompt and Cassa Bassa’s encouragement to write a C-word poem after my B-Movie poem but not with the C-word, of course, and her recent post asking Is This Art?.)

(I’m just proud I didn’t have to resort to a “chocolate conies” reference for Easter.)
