Broke my toe closing Jack’s fridge
cursing the kitchen cabinets
in the sudden dark
Inspired by my favorite haiku of Jack Kerouac:
Missing a kick
at the icebox door
It closed anyway

I was absolutely in love with his writing in my twenties and read most of the French translations of his work at the time.π
I blame him for my misspent youthβ¦π

Also, sorry if Iβm asking the obvious here…
But how do you define a βFraikuβ??? Is it a Haiku in spirit without the syllables count?

A Fraiku is a haiku I post on a Friday.
I don’t let the restrictive Japanese syllable count stand in the way of a good three-line poem.

It certainly should not! π Friday Haiku is a great idea, I was thinking along the lines of the rebellious Freak Haiku… π Thank you very much for your time Dave.π
See you around.
