Every eight weeks
I conjure blood from wine
one pint at a time
Tomorrow morning, I’ll be making my bimonthly donation at the American Red Cross. If you’ve received a transfusion of A+ blood and felt a little tipsy afterwards, blame me.

What a way to look at it – brilliant π

Thanks, Ange! If you ever need a transfusion, don’t forget to ask for my vintage.

Tipsy or not, possibly a life saved. Bravo Bart! π©Έ

Thank you, Michele! Even if it’s not a saved life, my blood has definitely helped lots of people.

Wonderful generosity of time and compassion. Inspiring, Bart. The last time I gave blood, I passed out at a store after. I drank water after, but not enough. Nervous now, but it’s important to give. ππ»

It’s important to give something back to the community and I know you’re giving plenty, even if it’s not blood.

OK I had to come back because WordPress hates me, blocks me, infuriates me, Anyhoo
This excellent little poem had me wondering if any of the recipients of your gift ever got up from the gurney and stumbled, suddenly drunk.
(Of course not but you started it.)

Definitely not drunk but probably a little happier than they were before. Unless they’re a mean drunk, I guess.

Well duh. Of course they would be happier. Happy to be alive. :)
