Just wanted to make sure my dear readers are aware that my poem, Inauguration, was posted on the Chaos Section Poetry Project website yesterday as part of their promotion of the Record of Dissent anthology.
Also one of my poems, Thoughtful Gifts, is being used to sell reed infusers! When I started taking poetry seriously 15 years ago, I never would have guessed that would happen.
About Bartholomew Barker
Bartholomew Barker is an organizer of Living Poetry, a collection of poets in the Triangle region of North Carolina where he has hosted a monthly feedback workshop for more than decade. His first poetry collection, Wednesday Night Regular, written in and about strip clubs, was published in 2013. His second, Milkshakes and Chilidogs, a chapbook of food inspired poetry was served in 2017. He was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2021. Born and raised in Ohio, studied in Chicago, he worked in Connecticut for nearly twenty years before moving to Hillsborough where he lives and writes poetry.
How neat is the reed diffuser idea!

Isn’t it though? I’m going to buy one to see how well it works.

Both excellent pieces. I have made the emperor comparison many times myself. So perfectly fitting – your words of course not the suit.

Thank you, Violet! Yeah, that old folktale is just so apt to our present as I’m sure it has been repeatedly over the centuries.

Hot damn Bart! The poem in the anthology is great, of course. Congratulations. But the poem as product placement is brilliant.

Thanks, JM! I puzzled over the choice of that poem to go on a reed infuser but what do I know?

Sometimes I wonder too … I submit 4 poems and what I think is poorest one, gets selected!!

Yeah, we’re not very good at judging our own work.

Thank you, Gypsie! It’s my first poem on a bottle. (As opposed to coming out of a bottle.)

That, dear friend, is a profound poem!

I assume you mean Thought Gifts and I’d like think of it as being more profane than profound.

I like how this diffuser takes poetry into everyday life. To think that your words will be living in people’s homes is pretty cool.

Agreed! I wonder what else we could get our poetry printed on…
