What I Love About February

The crackle of rain on the metal roof in late winter
The smell of the match as I light the candle in the window
The streetlight shimmering in the puddle

The satiny bed sheets — purple of course — against bare skin
The heat of bodies banked under quilts and comforters
The whispers at the end of the day

Fresh silence as rain turns into snow

It’s in the silent trickles of the raindrops, that you perfectly captured and expressed.

    Divine.
