Bicycles by Nikki Giovanni

To honor Nikki Giovanni, I’m posting a pic of my favorite poem of hers from the anthology The 100 Best African American Poems, which she also edited. Rest in power.

Like a cloud
So quiet
In the October sky
Like licking ice cream
From a cone
Like knowing you
Will always
Be there
