It’s too soon I warned her
ice barely melted
but warm air and hot sun
on winter pale skin
makes her jump to cool
that spring fever
Then screams echo
off far shore trees
just barely green
(Inspired by the National Poetry Month poster above and Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt even though I didn’t use the word, it’s present throughout.)

Thanks, JM! I can’t even remember past posters for National Poetry Month. This one was inspiring.

Easter Sunday – Evie Sands – mother & daughter in the water – loving it! We were standing on the shore – well wrapped up – enjoying watching their joy.

Oh, I like both. The poem and the picture. And certainly such a typical thing for carefree children to do. It’s like I see my now adult daughters as cildren defying the cold and just having fun.

Danke! I’m not sure if I didn’t feel the cold as much as a child or if I just didn’t care.
