for Sloan
Her eyes caress me
glancing dangerous places
making idle promises
Her smile consumes me
absorbing intellect
leaving nothing of use
Her song compels me
to the rocky shore
of her clockwork hips
This year marks the tenth anniversary of my first poetry collection, Wednesday Night Regular. To celebrate I’m posting my favorite poems from the book on Wednesday nights, of course.

“absorbing intellect
leaving nothing of use”
Aye – well – that’s exactly what happens.
My friends – mostly male – and I used to refer to that as being ‘Proddle-struck’.
Otherwise rational males would lose all sense and follow their dick-ends.

Proddle-struck, I’ll have to popularize that term. Thanks!
