Charli

She is a torch
In deep caves
Where men have
Lost vision

She glows from
Some inner joy
We huddle around
For warmth

She can’t hide
Bright shines
Her eyes
And smile

All I need do
Is look up
From my shoes
To see her

This year marks the tenth anniversary of my first poetry collection, Wednesday Night Regular. To celebrate I’m posting my favorite poems from the book on Wednesday nights, of course.
