Fraiku: You Are My Muse

We only glimpse each other
through layers of masks
yet you inflame my marrow

(For today’s prompt, take the phrase “You Are (blank),” replace the blank with a new word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem.)

    Inflamed marrow? See a doctor!

    Sorry – couldn’t resist.

Maybe that is what love is – or friendship – when people can see what’s there through the masks put on as a defence against people – and accept what they see.

And that can be across distance and time.

What do I know? People are a mystery to me.
