Bartholomew Barker is an organizer of Living Poetry, a collection of poets in the Triangle region of North Carolina where he has hosted a monthly feedback workshop for more than decade. His first poetry collection, Wednesday Night Regular, written in and about strip clubs, was published in 2013. His second, Milkshakes and Chilidogs, a chapbook of food inspired poetry was served in 2017. He was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2021. Born and raised in Ohio, studied in Chicago, he worked in Connecticut for nearly twenty years before moving to Hillsborough where he lives and writes poetry.

  2. I feel it’s more a problem of humans who think they are gods and have the right to judge who lives and who dies. And isn’t it us who have legitimized their power?

  3. We’ve legitimized the oppression of women rights here in the good old USA as well. Women are fighting here too. The situation may be more extreme in some other places, but it is also getting extreme here. And beyond the oppression of women there are killings of children all over the world happening as well. I would call this behavior Godless. Even if God is used as the justification, religion has been interpreted all over the world as man’s right to dominated everything that threatens their power. Including nature.
