I’ve chewed the bitter pill— Lipitor’s awful but not as bad as testing the smoke detector battery with my pink flesh completing the circuit, leaving metallic electricity.
My mother would wash my mouth out with soap, my wife left strawberry wax and cigarettes on my lips, but for love, nothing tastes like Swiss Cake Rolls except Yodels.
Bartholomew Barker is an organizer of Living Poetry, a collection of poets in the Triangle region of North Carolina where he has hosted a monthly feedback workshop for more than decade.
