Late Winter Thaw

We shed our heavy coats
on sunny days above freezing

Forget last autumn’s shivering
in parkas at the same temperature

Recipe for another variant
still a month from the equinox
yet behaving like it’s all over

(For Sammi Cox’s Weekend Writing Prompt: Recipe. Can poems be about more than one thing at a time?)

I have certainly enjoyed the reprieve of winter these last few days. Helps give us strength to finish it out.
