Divedeep in the cool waters
Divedown to the sandy silt
Divedark where there is no more sun
Drop job and money
Drop fear and love
Drop the world above — let it all float away
Embrace the plunge
you’ll find the panacea
and appalling freedom
(For Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt and Living Poetry’s Monday Prompt and last week’s Visual Prompt though it took a very strange turn. Not sure what’s going on.)

Is Freedom still possible
Or a mission impossible

I’m not sure what Freedom is but I’m pretty sure it’s not what everybody thinks it is.

Freedom is for the Birds
Humans, I am lost for words
Their main appetite is greed
Without planting any seeds

It is often hard to know these things at the start. Until you’ve learned what was needed or you run out of breath. 🫧

Dare I say ‘Deep’?
Not without an apology.
But seriously,
‘appalling freedom’
I will ponder the notion.

Thanks

I guess one side effect of reading your line ‘appalling freedom’ has been penning the Limerick ‘Trickle down economics’ (as Blake Mouse) in the middle of the night.
Sheoak inspired, with a nod of thanks to you for planting a seed.

“appalling freedom”
My lord – isn’t it just.
‘Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose’ – ‘Me & Bobby MaGee’ – Janis Joplin
People think they want it – but I don’t believe they do – there’s no evidence that they do – but plenty evidence to the contrary.
I’ll stop now.

It’s a slippery subject, isn’t it? I think a lot people want freedom for themselves but not for others.
