Truth or Dare

Beer BottlesFrom the Poetic Asides blog:
Today is our second “Two for Tuesday” prompt(s), and here are your options:

  • Write an honest poem. Or…
  • Write a dishonest poem.

Truth or Dare

Truth: I’ve never played before.

My parties were geeky.
Instead of Truth or Dare
and a six pack of Bud Lite,
my friends and I played D&D
and drank Mountain Dew.

I remember feeling prudish
as a teenager. Disgusted
with the football players
and quietly lusting
after the cheerleaders.

I was not popular
enough to be invited
to campfires in the woods
to spin bottles
or spend time in heaven.

Dare: Play with me now.
