I’m proud to announce that the latest anthology from Prolific Pulse Press is now available for purchase. Cadence, Life’s Poetic Rhythms, was edited by Lisa Tomey-Zonneveld and Zaneta Varnado Johns and they included three of my poems in the collection.

In their call for submissions, they asked for poems about joy. I don’t write a lot of joyful poetry but I looked through the archives and found some I thought might stretch the definition: Our Smoldering Fire, Thanksgiving Table and These kids don’t know they’re in love yet. You can’t read those poems anywhere else so get your copy today to see what I mean. You’ll also notice a lot of familiar poets between the bindings.

Bartholomew Barker is one of the organizers of Living Poetry, a collection of poets and poetry lovers in the Triangle region of North Carolina. His first poetry collection, Wednesday Night Regular, written in and about strip clubs, was published in 2013. His second, Milkshakes and Chilidogs, a chapbook of food inspired poetry was served in 2017. He was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2021. Born and raised in Ohio, studied in Chicago, he worked in Connecticut for nearly twenty years before moving to Hillsborough where he makes money as a computer programmer to fund his poetry habit.
