Monday Night Poetry

Monday Night PoetryMy new passport is here! It was time to renew and I sent it off less than a month ago. None the less there was still a little drama because my old passport was not returned in the envelope with its successor. I am overly sentimental so this freaked  me out. I called Washington and the calming lady on the phone told me that they changed their procedures about a year ago so my expired passport with the evidence of my travels to South Africa, Germany and the Netherlands will be returned in a different mailing within two weeks. Now that I’m relaxed, I can get to work. I am feeling inspired and hope to have a new chocolate holiday poem to perform for the open mic this Thursday at Matthew’s in delicious downtown Hillsborough. Hope to see you there!

  1. For some reason, our expired passports are always sent back separately, and they tend to arrive 3 days before the new one. (Canada) It’s probably easier to send it as soon as it’s decommissioned, rather than trying to keep it in company with the paperwork as the new is created.
