Standing amid the smoldering wreckage
of my life with just a few scratches
I wonder how I got so lucky…

A grand poem indeed Bart …

  2. That definitely looks like the Alaskan Earthquake that hit Valdez and drove all the fishing boats up on the land. I was in Alaska then so this really hits home for me.

I went to the ‘Edge of Humanity’ (the irony isn’t lost on me).

Bart. – you’ve done it again – caught so much, in a short poem.

I used to try to see and tell myself that it was all for a reason – I stopped doing that – and just get on with it. It is for a reason – that reason being – life, living, learning. Not for a ‘whole scheme of things’ kind of reason – or, I don’t think so.

I would have ‘Just get on with it’ on my headstone, but I don’t intend to have a headstone – ashes scattered on a cliff-top – no lectures – my lecturing will be over.
