I am proud to announce that Edge of Humanity Magazine has published a new poem of mine, Survivor Anger. I strongly encourage all my readers check it out and follow their excellent site.
Here’s the first stanza of six, to pique your interest:
Standing amid the smoldering wreckage
of my life with just a few scratches
I wonder how I got so lucky…

A grand poem indeed Bart …

That definitely looks like the Alaskan Earthquake that hit Valdez and drove all the fishing boats up on the land. I was in Alaska then so this really hits home for me.

That stock image was from the Alaskan earthquake and tsunami that struck in 1964. It was the most “disastery” image I could find.

I went to the ‘Edge of Humanity’ (the irony isn’t lost on me).
Bart. – you’ve done it again – caught so much, in a short poem.
I used to try to see and tell myself that it was all for a reason – I stopped doing that – and just get on with it. It is for a reason – that reason being – life, living, learning. Not for a ‘whole scheme of things’ kind of reason – or, I don’t think so.
I would have ‘Just get on with it’ on my headstone, but I don’t intend to have a headstone – ashes scattered on a cliff-top – no lectures – my lecturing will be over.

You could have a nice stone bench erected where your ashes get tipped over the cliff, your name and dates engraved.
