She shines her sideways smile
From too low in the sky
Polaris too high
Image taken from my hotel room with my phone. She looms much larger in my mind’s eye.

All credit goes to the Moon. Sometimes she’s just too beautiful for poetry but I have to try.

I would like to add that I have found that even the photo is pure poetry

Thank you but this photo is a poor substitute for our human eyes.

I agree, but it serves to fix a memory and show it to those who are dear to usπ

The moon is always a source of inspiration.
A lovely poem, Bart. Truly lovely, indeed.

Lovely haiku that compliments the smiling moon.
I find it amazing how good a pic one can take with a phone. But then, Iβm a dinosaur, grew up long before cellphones (and PCs) were to be had.

Thanks. I’m rather ashamed of the pic though it was the best I could do. I know that if I had a proper camera and tripod it would’ve come out much better.

I thought it a good picture, Bartholomew. I have an iPhone, and itβs the only camera I own, so it has to do. Recently, my son was on a business trip to Europe, and while there, sent me some great pics he took in the Alps and in Venice, using just his cellphone.
I recall the first phone with a camera I ownedβa flip phoneβand the pictures I took then pale in comparison to what todayβs phones are capable of.

Yeah, it’s amazing especially when compared to what we had to do in our youth to take pictures, taking film to a pharmacy, waiting days for them to be developed and printed.

We all live under the same sky, more-or-less.

Do you know – I meant to say that – and forgot!
It’s good to be in the same time zone for a change though.
