I’m pleased to announce that one of my Halloween Haiku, The Great Pumpkin Moon, was published over at Spillwords earlier today.

Love the juxta of old and modern traditions. Also the climbing through barren trees. That’s beautiful.

Dear Bartholomew,
Congratulations to you on having your Halloween Haiku entitled “The Great Pumpkin Moon” published at Spillwords!
It seems that we have something in common insofar as I also love moon poetry and have published three posts on my blog.
Wishing you a productive October doing or enjoying whatever that satisfies you the most, including but not limited to composing highly commendable blog posts!
Yours sincerely,
SoundEagle

Thank you, S. E., we do indeed share a love of the moon. She’s been my muse for half my life. May your autumn be productive as well.

Dear Bartholomew,
Thank you for your reply. Let’s see what you think of my lunar muse. One of my posts contains a tetrapartite poem with twelve rhyming stanzas constituting my rhyming poem entitled “If My Name Were Moon Tonight…“. There is also the opportunity to savour my own rendition of “Clair de Lune” recorded on the organ. I look forward to interacting with you and reading your feedback at my said post.

I welcome your input and am curious to know what you will make of my said post. In addition, I hope that you will enjoy watching my dynamic animation produced in high resolution (1920 x 1280) synchronized perfectly to Debussy’s Clair de Lune. The effects are going to be great on the large screen of your desktop or laptop. Moreover, you should be able to see that the entire post from top to bottom is full of eye-catching animations.
This animation-intensive post is the result of my dramatic attempt to bring the Full Moon alive, so to speak, in the form of Music Animation with Dynamic Visualization presented in high definition and imbued with a scintillating full moon surrounded by eye-catching astronomical phenomena and stellar activities.
Yours sincerely,
SoundEagle

While I appreciate the time and effort expended to construct the animations and record the music and write a rhyming poem, it just isn’t to my taste. Sorry, but you may have noticed that my blog and my poetry are rather sparse. That’s just my preferred aesthetic.
(If you’d like more detailed poetry review of this or any other poem, reach out to me privately via my Contact page or just send me an email, bart.barker@gmail.com. I’ll be happy exchange poetry reviews with you.)

Dear Bartholomew,
Thank you for being so frank and polite. I appreciate your friendliness and feedback. My aesthetic sensibilities and tastes are very wide-ranging and diverse, encompassing many styles and genres. I certainly love how you have presented your blog and your poetry, and will continue to enjoy your labour of love and your lunar muse.
Moreover, I really do not mind your criticizing my poetry and work. As mentioned, I look forward to interacting with you and reading your feedback at my said post. If you do find issues and flaws in any of my poems and stanzas, please feel free to state them in your comment(s). I certainly would like to learn from my mistakes, oversights and shortcomings, and I need you to point them out to me unreservedly. Thank you in anticipation.
Yours sincerely,
SoundEagle

Congratulations, Bart (or do you prefer Bartholomew?) ! I wonder what the tree thinks about the decorative white streamers…hmm… 😊

Fortunately, trees think very slowly. I doubt they even notice the decoration. (And I prefer Bartholomew in the written context but if you’re using your voice, just call me Bart.)
