your beliefs, your body.
How will you vote?

  2. Such hypocrisy. Feigning such concern for the fetus but once that child is in the world it’s on it’s own because the Republicans will do all they can to eliminate all social programs even free school lunches that might help that child and mother.

    • For the true believers, the fetus is untainted by original sin but once it’s born, it’s a sinner like everyone else. Of course, there are plenty of Republican shills who don’t believe but just want the true believers votes and money. It’s been a useful wedge issue since the 80’s. I just hope brings out the Democratic base.

It’s an odd business. The Republicans, as I understand it, started by supporting freedoms in America – Abe Lincoln was their first President! And now – they often stand for the opposite of freedom.
The Conservative Party allegedly started off with ideas of conserving the good things about life in Britain but have, for some time, stood for……the opposite.

Politics – human behaviour – an odd business.

    To quote Bjork…

    Human Behaviour

if you ever get close to a human
    and human behaviour
    be ready to get confused.

    there’s definitely no logic
    to human behaviour
    but yet so irresistible

    there’s no map
    to human behaviour

    they’re terribly moody
then all of a sudden turn happy
but, oh, to get involved in the exchange
of human emotions is ever so satisfying

    there’s no map
    and a compass
    wouldn’t help at all

    human behaviour

    • While political historians can explain the various shifts in political parties from left to right and back again, I don’t worry too much about it. In politics, history can be informative but what’s important are the policies they support now.
