Bartholomew Barker is one of the organizers of Living Poetry, a collection of poets and poetry lovers in the Triangle region of North Carolina. Born and raised in Ohio, studied in Chicago, he worked in Connecticut for nearly twenty years before moving to Hillsborough where he makes money as a computer programmer to fund his poetry habit.

    I like the poem, but anyone who has ever baked anything, or cooked something in a kitchen, as used science. Anyone who has built something, or intentionally managed plants and animals, or has applied anti-bacterial cream and a bandage to a cut has used science. Lots of other examples. Basically everyone which is why I just don’t understand how modern humans can be so anti-science.
