“Some people are born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple.”
~ Barry Switzer
They had every advantage
and took them all.
Every birthday car, provided.
Every speeding ticket, fixed.
Every drunken accident, forgotten.
They never worked a day
they didn’t want
to at daddy’s company.
Strolling in whenever,
comfy corner offices
where they play businessman
over long lunches with cocktails
and go home when bored,
while their underlings,
promoted on merit,
make them more money.
They grew up in a world without consequences
and believe it’s the nature of the universe
but Daddy won’t fix the overheated climate
like he did the bad grades and damaged hookers.
Their birthright silver spoons
have tarnished their tongues.
Who’s going to finally spank
these spoiled rich kids?
Great final on this one and perfect timing.

Oh, I hear you! I wrote something very similar to this last year. It is a subject that makes me quite angry. I never tire of saying it but the French way of Meritocracy (though we do get the spoiled brats over there too) is THE way to go.

Agreed. The French have done a better job of getting rid of their monarchy than we have in the States but you also have the National Front to contend with. I hope the so-called election of Donald Trump will be a cautionary example for the French.

Yes, I agree. Cautionary rather than be seen as a green light, which is what I fear—there is so much anger in France

The anger is widespread. Over the past thirty or forty years, market economies have been “fixed” to primarily benefit the rich.

Yes, they have. I’m not even going to say anymore because I’m known to go on endless rants when this subject comes up ;)
