Drinking Wine

WineFrom the Poetic Asides blog:

For today’s prompt, pick 2 vowels and write a poem using words that only contain one or both of those vowels. For instance, write a poem with words that only have a “u” and “o.” Also, the letter “y” is wild–so the words “my” and “gypsy” are freebies. And I’ll allow text-speak (or maybe I should say “txt spk”).

Drinking Wine

I’ve been drinking wine
this third weekend in Spring
the bees entwined in flight
velvety red sips
with berry hints
the wind’s fingers
in my vines

My favorite so far, although I misread the last word as veins at first. Nicely done.

Stop showing off! Just kidding. Kudos on completing a difficult prompt and coming up with a nice tight poem. You’re really on your game these days.

I am partial to wine. Especially full bodied reds. I figured that only a wine lover could do this poem justice. I’m glad you had a great time at your wine tasting. x
