From the Poetic Asides blog:
For today’s prompt, take the phrase “How (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles include: “How to Write a Poem,” “How Mechanical Pencils Work,” and “Howling at the Moon After Midnight in the Middle of a Thunderstorm.”
How does Bob do it?
First candy
Wrapped in cellophane
Bob’s Sweet Stripes
Not painted disk peppermints
Instead a red and white ball
On each end dimpled
Cute spun sugar
Melting in your smile
Outer threads
Disintegrating
to inner beauty
Pay attention
With your tongue
So sensitive
to delicate textures
and language
evaporating
away
