Upcoming Workshops

WorkshopAmong my regular poetic duties, I host a free monthly workshop that meets on third Thursdays in the Durham South Regional Library, here in North Carolina. I’ve been doing it for a couple of years and have a good mix of Living Poetry veterans and newcomers each month reviewing and critiquing each others’ poetry.

I’ve recently been spending some quality time in Greensboro and have gotten involved in the Triad Poetry Meetup so I volunteered to host a free workshop for them as well. If we get a good turnout we’ll turn it into a monthly event. The inaugural meeting will be 7pm Wednesday January 7th at the Deep Roots Market on Eugene Street. Sign up at the Triad Poetry Meetup by Friday January 2nd and I’ll send further instructions.

Alert readers will have noticed a new option in the menu above labeled “Events”. On Saturday January 17th, Tara Lynne Groth of Write Naked and I will be hosting “Poetry Uncorked” at Starrlight Mead in Pittsboro. This workshop should be a lot of fun because we’re having a mead tasting first and then we’re all going to write brand new poetry while under the influence of the honey wine. The two hour workshop starts at 4pm and costs $35 which includes the mead tasting, the souvenir wine glass, a copy of my book, Wednesday Night Regular and all the inspiration you can handle.

There are no excuses for not writing.
